4.71 - 0.5=
4.66
2.42 - 0.1=
2.41
1.82 - 0.3=
1.79 - 82 - 3 = 79 , 1.79
4.55 - 2.3=
2.52 - 4.55 - 4.0 = 2.55 , 2.55 - 0.3 = 2.52
7.75 - 3.2=
4.73 - 7.75 - 3.0 = 4.75 , 4.75 - 0.2 = 4.73
4.81 - 1.4 =
3.78 - 4.81 - 1.0 = 3.81 , 3.81 - 0.4 = 3.78
22.62 - 1.3=
21.59 - 22.62 - 1.0 = 21.62 , 21.62 - 0.3 = 21.59

Question

Subtracting Decimals 1

Walt: Add and subtract decimals in tenths and hundredths
Walt: Solve decimal word problems .

Subtracting Decimals  1
Subtract the decimals and whole numbers to answer the questions below. Remember to show your working you can do this by writing it in the document or inserting a photo.

Question
Working and answer
0.7 - 0.5= 0 . 2
0 . 2 so the working out is 0 . 7 - 0 . 5 = 0 . 2 so the answer is 0 . 2
0.4 - 0.1= 0 . 3
0 . 3 so the working out is 0 . 4 + 0 . 1 = 0 . 3   so the answer is 0 . 3
0.9 - 0.3= 0 . 6
0 . 6 so the working out is 0 . 9 + 0 . 3 = 0 . 6   so the answer is 0 .  6
0.6 - 0.3= 0 . 3
0 . 3 so the working out is 0 . 6 + 0 . 3 = 0 . 3 just like 6 - 3 = 3  so the answer is 0 .  3
0.7 - 0.2= 0 . 5
7 - 2 = 5 but in Decimals its 0 . 7 + 0 .  2 = 0 .  5 so the answer is 0 .  5
0.8 - 0.4 =0 . 4
8 - 4 = 4 but Decimals its 0 . 8 + 0 . 4 = 0 . 4 so the answer is 0 . 4
2.6 - 1.3= 1 . 3
2 - 1 = 1 right so then 0 . 6 - 0 . 3 = 0 . 3 so then add it all up and it makes 1 . 3
9.8 - 1.5= 8 . 3
9 - 1 = 8 right so then 0 .  8 - 0 . 5 = 0 . 3 then add it up up = 8 .  3
9.4 - 3.2= 6 . 2
9 -  3 = 6 so then  0 . 4 - 0  . 2 = 0 . 2 so then add up 6 + 0 . 2 = 6 . 2
6.8 - 5.1= 1 . 7
6 - 5 = 1 so then 0 . 8 - 0 . 1 = 0 . 7 add it all up = 1 . 7
8.3 - 5.2=
3.1 - 8.3 - 5.0 = 3.3 - 3.3 - 0.2 = 3.1
9.6 - 5.4=
4.2 - 9.6 - 5.0 = 4.6 - 4.6 - 0.4 = 4.2
8.7 - 3.7=
5.0 - 8.7 - 3.0 = 5.7 - 5.7 - 0.7 = 5.0
4.2 - 2.2=
4 - 2 = 2 so then 0 . 2 - 0 . 2 = 0 . 0 so then add it all up = 4 whole

In these question you have to subtract from the whole.
Question
Working and answer
5.5 - 0.6
4 . 9
4.7 - 0.8
3 . 9
1.5 -0.6
0 . 9
2.2 - 0.4
1 . 8
1.7 - 0.9
0 . 8

Adding Decimals 1 Extra Task .

Adding Decimals 1 Extra Task .

Add the decimals and whole numbers to answer the questions below. Remember to show your working you can do this by writing it in the document or inserting a photo.

Question
Working and answer
0.3 + 0.6= 0 . 9
3 + 6 = 9 so 0 . 3 + 0 . 6 = 0 . 9
0.4 + 0.5= 0 . 9
4 + 5 = 9 so 0 . 4 + 0 . 5 = 0 . 9
0.5 + 0.5=  1 whole
0 . 5  + 0 . 5 = 1 whole not 10 because in Decimals u can not go pass 10 so if it is 10 it is now a  1 Whole
0.6 + 0.4= 1
0 . 6 + 0 . 4 = 1 Whole because 6 + 4 = 10 but in Decimals it is 1 Whole .
0.7 + 0.2= 0 . 9
0 . 7 + 0 . 2 = 0 . 9 Because 7 + 2 = 9 or 2 + 7 = 9  .
0.4 + 0.4 = 0 . 8
0 . 4 + 0 . 4 = 8 so 4 + 4 = 8 = 0 . 8
0.3 + 0.2= 0 . 5
0 . 3 + 0 . 2 = 0 . 5 so 3 + 2 = 5 = 0 . 5
#
3 + 5 = 8 so then 0 . 4 + 0 . 5 = 0 . 9 = 8 . 9
9.4 + 3.4=  2 whole
9 + 3 = 1 . 2 not 12 so then 0 . 4 + 0 . 4 = 0 . 8 so then add it up = 2 Whole
6.8 + 5.1= 2 whole
6 + 5 = 1 . 1 so then 0 . 8 + 0 . 1 = 0 . 9 add it all up = 2 Whole
3.3 + 2.1= 5 . 4
3 + 2 = 5 so 0 . 3 + 0 . 1 = 0 . 4 add it all up = 5 . 4
4.6 +2.4= 7 whole
4 + 2 = 6 so 0 . 6 + 0 . 4 = 1 Whole add it up up = 7 Whole
5.2 + 3.7= 8 . 9
5 + 3 = 8 so 0 . 2 + 0 . 7 = 9 so add it all up together = 8 . 9
4.1 +2.2= 6 . 3
So 4.1 + 2.0 = 6.1 so then 6.1 + 0.2 = 6.3 add it all up together = 6 . 3

In these question your decimals adds over the decimal point.
Question
Working and answer
0.7 +0.6 = 1 . 1
7 + 6 = 11 but not 11 because its 1 .1
0.5 + 0.5 = 1 whole
5 + 5 = 10 right but in Decimals u can not go pass 10 so the answer is 1 whole
1.4 + 0.8 = 1 . 3
1.3 so then 7 + 6 = 13. In decimals you can’t do that so the answer is 1 . 3
2.6 + 0.5 =
2  + 0 = 2 so then 0 . 6 + 0 . 5 = 1 . 1 then add it all up = 3 . 1
1.5 + 1.7 =
1 + 1 = 2 right then 5 + 7 = 1 . 2 add it all up together = 3 . 2

Decimals Maths ! Activity 1

Week 2 - Decimals
Walt: Add and subtract decimals in tenths and hundredthsWalt: Solve decimal word problems

Question
Photo of your working out.
0.7 + 0.9 =
0.7 + 0.9 =
Screen Shot 2016-03-06 at 9.51.32 pm.png
1.5 + 3.4 =
4 . 9
Because 1 + 3 = 4 so then 0 . 5 + 0 . 4 = 9 so add it all up and it makes 4 . 9
3.2 + 4.6 =
7 . 8
Because  3 + 4 = 7 so then 0 . 2 + 0 . 6 = 8 so add it all up so then it makes
7 . 8
5.1 + 4.8 =
9 . 9
Cause 5 + 4 = 9 so then 0 . 8 + 0 . 1 = 9 so then add it all up then it makes
9 . 9
6.4 + 2.5 =
8 . 9
So 6 + 2 = 8 so then 0 . 4 + 0 . 5 = 9 so then add it all up and it makes 8 . 9
4.8 + 3.1 =
7 . 9
So first u go 4 + 3 = 7 right then 0 . 8 + 0 . 1 = 9 then add it all up and it makes 7 . 9
7.5 + 1.5 =
9 . 0
So u want to start like this 7 + 1 = 8 so then 5 + 5 = 10 but in Decimals it makes 1 Whole so 5 + 5 = 1 Whole so then add it all up then it makes 9 . 0
3.6 + 4.6 =
8 . 2
Cause 3 + 4 = 7 right then u want to add 6 + 6 = 1 . 2  not 12 so then u want to add it all up and it makes 8 . 2
5.7 + 6.8 =
2 . 6
Because u add 5 + 6 = 1 . 1 not 11 so then u want to do next is u want to add 0 . 7 + 0 . 8 = 1 . 5 not 15 then u add it all up and it makes 2 . 6

Task Description : Today Room 6 Maths is Learning about Decimals Room 6 Maths has learned about Decimals Before So this task is all about Adding Decimals and then show your answer and your working out . This was an Awesome Task to do in Maths Class .
