WinterLearningJourney ( All About Pure New Zealand ) Day 1

Day 1: 100% PURE New Zealand

Well, the time has now come! School’s out for the holidays and your tour of New Zealand is about to begin. I hope that you are ready and excited! Curious Kiwi certainly is – he can’t wait to start the Great Kiwi Road Trip! Before you all hit the road, let’s take a minute to review some key facts about New Zealand.3.jpg
Activity 1:  Go to the Tourism New Zealand website and click on the ‘Facts - New Zealand People’ tab. Read about the people of New Zealand and then choose three interesting facts to post on your blog. The facts must be written in your own words. Do not simply copy and paste the facts from the website☺

Fact Number 1 -  New Zealand has become a population , using some unique features to make it a better World to live in .

Fact Number 2 - With all different kind's of Cultures like Maori, European, Pacific Islanders and Asian cultures that is all mixed in New Zealand and it doesn't really matter what Culture you are .

Fact Number 3 - For the same reason that many different kinds of visitors come to New Zealand and most\some Kiwis have passion for outdoors .

Activity 2: Your tour of New Zealand is going to start right here in Auckland. Watch the Tourist video for Auckland to learn about the awesome things that you can see and do in the city. Once you’ve finished, choose your favourite five activities from the video and list them on your blog.

  • Number 1 Fav - Auckland is the Perfect Base from which to explore the seen coasted-line
  • Number 2 Fav - Enjoy the Beach at Mission Bay Beach
  • Number 3 Fav - Going to the Auckland Zoo
  • Number 4 Fav - Going to Rainbow Ends
  • Number 5 Fav - Going to Mt Eden Mountain to the View of Auckland City
Bonus Activity: Now it’s time to start your tour! Curious Kiwi decides to start by taking you on a short tour through downtown Auckland. You stop at the Sky Tower, the tallest building in all of New Zealand. When you look up, you see a huge New Zealand flag on the top of the tower. This flag was created back in 1902. That makes the New Zealand flag 115 years old!

Last year, the Prime Minister of New Zealand suggested that we should replace the flag with a new, updated design. He invited everyone in New Zealand to come up with their own flag design and submit it.
For this activity, it is your turn to design a new flag. Use any drawing programme that you wish.  Once you have finished, post a copy of your design on your blog. Describe the flag, in words, below the picture. Be sure to tell us what is on the flag and what inspired your design.

This is my Flag that i have created so what i did first was to put New Zealand in a big word and coloured Black for the inside and red for the outline then i putted 7 dark blue stars repersent the 7 stars of the sisters of Matariki and for the top left cornner i have putted a Southern Cross in green because it stand for the Earth and i put blue as its background  because it stands for Sea and Sky and putted NZ for New Zealand and i have putted in the top right Cornner ESS stands for Earth , Sea and Sky and putted a S pattern below it and this flag is part of the Bonus Activity .

  2. Kia ora Lillyana,

It is wonderful to see that you have taken the time to read through the Tourism NZ website and to watch the Tourism Auckland videos. After reading your post I am inspired to get out and explore all that this amazing city has to offer! It's too bad that it's so cold, though, or else I would head to the beach or to Mission Bay to go for a walk along the seafront. When I was 15 years old I actually came to New Zealand to visit with my family. At the time I was living in Canada and going to school. Our summer break in Canada is July - August so we came to NZ for 6 weeks over the holiday break. When we arrived we decided to go to Mission Bay and we actually went for a swim in the ocean. I can still remember it because it was so cold that we froze! My lips actually turned blue!

I hope that you get the chance to go swimming at the beach in Mission Bay one day (in the summer time)!!

Keep up the great work with your blogging. Both Madison and I are really impressed by your work!

    Cheers,
    Rachel

  3. Indeed, even a picture that isn't at all identified with cleaning could function admirably and enable your business to emerge.
